I have used both to make puzzles but I prefer to use scrabble. It’s so much more random and allows you to play your own words and not just the ones you are told are acceptable. I was using the app called Scrabble Quest to make my word puzzles. Then someone gave me a hint for cat and I didn’t know what to do with it. So I played it. What I thought it was doing was letting you create a word and then a hint for the word but it didn’t. It would allow you to create a word with an H and then another word, not even an anagram, and have that as the H. Now this could be a feature, but it would have to be explned.

But I just use words and numbers to make puzzles and I do make them easier but not harder.

I used both scrabble and crosswords. For me, scrabble is just like writing out a list of words. I’m not good at word games, so I’ve never played crosswords. I did play scrabble though. Crosswords is more fun, because you have to figure out the solution yourself.
